Charli XCX to make her SNL debut
Charli is all set to host Saturday Night Live's November 16 episode. The late night sketch comedy show is currently in its 50th season and airs on NBC. As per SNL traditions, hosts usually deliver the night's opening monologue and participate in scenes alongside regular cast members.
Along with hosting duties, Charli will also be the musical guest for the night. The two-time Grammy nominee had already appeared on SNL multiple times as a musical guest, first in December 2014 with host Martin Freeman and then in March 2022 with host Oscar Isaac.
Charlie has also served as an inspiration for Bowen Yang's impression of the Charli XCX Talk Show sketch. In the sketch,Yang was seen with Sarah Sherman who played Troye Sivan, Jean Smart, who played Susanne Bartsch, Chloe Fineman who played Kaitlan Collins and Ego Nwodim who played Jasmine Crockett.
Charli's album Brat Summer gained recognition as the term became popular during 2024's summer. Collins' Dictionary named "Brat" as the chosen word of the year. The dictionary changed it's earlier definition of the word, which was "someone, especially a child", who "behaves badly or annoys you" to "characterised by a confident, independent, and hedonistic attitude."
The dictionary said the word has "become one of the most talked about words" of 2024.
