He affirmed that Marvel and Disney have not participated in talks about recasting the beloved character, chiefly because they have yet to open up to the next steps for the Black Panther franchise.
Nate Moore says -
“The truth is, there’s no truth to those rumors. Never say never to anything, we haven’t really had a lot of creative conversations with Ryan Coogler yet…… “We’ll get into it later this year, but everything you read online is not true, if for no other reason than we just haven’t started [working on it].”
This statement of his verifies that, for now, the character will continue to stay as how Chadwick Boseman played him, with no new actor picking up the role.
Black Panther’s Future in the MCU:
T’Challa had his debut in Captain America: Civil War before being the leading man of his solo film titled Black Panther in 2018. The film was directed by Ryan Coogler.
The first Black Panther film garnered over $1 billion at the box office making it a massive hit. T’Challa also went on to play a major role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, where he stood with the Avengers fighting against Thanos.

After Chadwick Boseman’s death, Marvel Studios chose not to recast Boseman’s character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which came out in the year 2022. In its place, the film venerated the legacy that Chadwick had built through playing T’Challa while shifting the spotlight to new and existing characters.
Letitia Wright who plays Shuri picked up the mantle of Black Panther, while the people of Wakanda faced the terror of Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta. The sequel also established the existence of Boseman's secret son, which tipoffs probable future storylines.
Even though a third Black Panther film is bound to happen, Marvel Studios has not yet green-lit the film in its entirety. However, Ryan Coogler is likely to return to direct the third installment.
While the character of T’Challa is confirmed to not be re-casted, Wakanda will not cease to exist within the MCU.
There are several MCU projects in development that could expand on the legacy of Black Panther and Chadwick Boseman. However, for now, there is official confirmation as to when the third installment of Black Panther might be released.
