Terrifier 3, the latest Horror movie to grace the big screen, reportedly had 11 people walk out, nine of whom left during the opening scene. The incident took place during the movie's first official screening in the UK where one moviegoer even ended up retching, LADbible reported. The movie, directed by Damien Leone is expected to hit theatres later this month.

The official IG account for the movie warned those curious and shared an image of a warning that read:

"This film contains extreme violence and excessive gore. If you are feeling unwell, please find a member of staff. Staff trained in first aid are on site.”

The caption of the post read:

"Don’t say we didn’t warn you.”

However, fans were not happy. Some took to the comments section to dish out their dismay over the gruesome movie, with one fan noting,

"Make movies watchable again."

However, others began theorizing that this could all be a marketing ploy:

"There’s no way this isn’t a marketing scheme… i wanna be paid to walk out from the opening scene of a movie," one user stated.
"Horror movies don’t phase me anymore so I have to see how scary this truly is," another claimed.
"This is the most transparent marketing scheme I’ve ever seen in awhile," another theorized.
"I’m all about horror movies, like they’re one of my favorite genres, but I’m so sick of seeing these kind of reports every year lol," yet another tweeted.

Some were of the impression that the movie was going to be a "let down" regardless:

"This never turns out to be reflective of the movie. Always a let down," one user claimed.
"This is literally part of Terrifier's marketing at this point. Count and report how many people vomit/leave the theater during opening screenings," another said.
"This happens every time that I almost wonder if it’s staged to make headlines," yet another tweeted.

Terrifier 3 director Damien Leone claims the movie is "insane"

According to LADBible, the director, Damien Leone, claimed that no one in Hollywood was ready to fund his gruesome project:

"I got to meet with studios, like legit Hollywood studios, who wanted to make Terrifier 3. But before I even had a script, just having meetings and getting the feel that I was going to have eyes over my shoulders, and they were concerned about the levels of gore and this and that. I knew they weren't going to let me make this movie based on the first five pages. Like, that's how insane Terrifier 3 is."

He continued, reflecting on a bit of the movie:

"Mark my words. I guarantee you the first five minutes of this movie is going to be very controversial. But that's not even the big kill scene. So that's why I was like, I need to just make this movie on my own, because it's too insane. If you thought Art the Clown's reign of terror in part two was extreme, you haven't seen anything yet."

Terrifier 3 has garnered 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
