M3GAN 2.0 has just reintroduced its famous A.I. doll in a sassy new avatar, through a brief teaser.

M3GAN 2.0 comes nearly three years after the first film that made its star, a pop-culture sensation. It followed a robotic doll who joined a family to accompany a young girl. However, it soon took a dark turn as the doll started behaving in shocking ways. While filled with creepy horror to the brim, it led to a viral trend since people started mimicking M3GAN's signature dancing moves.

So, it doesn't come as a surprise that the sequel is being teased with a sassy dance sequence - that too with the Best New Artist Grammy-winner Chappel Roan's Femininomenon. Universal Pictures might just have struck the iron while it was hot as the teaser dropped during the 2025 Grammys. Anyhow, it teased the fans with just enough of M3GAN's unhinged charisma that they would want to flock to the theaters to watch their scream queen wreak havoc!

The newly-released teaser for M3GAN 2.0 shows the titular A.I.-doll character dancing to a Chappell Roan song, accompanied by a quote "This B***h is back". She ends it with a wink and asks, "Miss Me?"

In this teaser, she looks just as creepy and menacing as she did in the franchise's 2022 installment, which became a critical and commercial success. So, Blumhouse Productions has gone ahead with this sequel besides a spinoff titled SOULM8TE, presumably releasing in 2026.

M3GAN 2.0 is bringing Gerard Johnstone back to his directing duties along with screenwriter Akela Cooper. While the teaser doesn't offer any concrete plot details, the film's official synopsis reads:

"Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I."

It further says:

"Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady, now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules. Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia, the ultimate killer infiltration spy."

But the plot thickens as the further synopsis notes:

"But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I. b***h is about to meet her match."

Allison Williams, Amie Donald, and Violet McGraw are reprising their roles as Gemma, M3GAn, and Cady. Ivanna Sakhno will join the M3GAN 2.0 cast as Amelia. Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps will return while Jemaine Clement, Aristotle Athari, and Timm Sharp, will freshly join the franchise cast.

M3GAN 2.0 is set to be out in the US theaters on June 27, 2025.
