Fantastic Four: First Steps released its first trailer for fans today, and things look exciting and thrilling for our favorite ensemble of four as they navigate through new challenges and villains in the new sneak peek for the upcoming movie.

The trailer of Fantastic Four: First Steps shows a retro but futuristic backdrop of New York City where all the heroes are living, showing glimpses of their lives before and after they got their powers. Led by Mr. Fantastic Pedro Pascal, the film features Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing.

Fantastic Four: First Steps also offers fans a brief look at Marvel's newest Villain Galactus, although fan reactions to the character's size have been less than pleasant. Many have discussed the characters' size not being comic-accurate.

In the actual comics, Galactus, also known as The Devourer Of The World is in much bigger shape as compared to the film.

Many even compared Galactus' size to the Avengers, pointing out that with his size he would be taken down by the Avengers easily.

As a long-awaited villain in the MCU, Galactus's size is relevant to his strength and power and many fans expressed their disappointment in the villain's much smaller size.

However, Marvel has a perfectly logical reason for why Galactus seems so much smaller in size in the film.

Why Marvel's Galactus is smaller in size as compared to the comics

One of Galctus' key traits is that he can change his size and appearance whenever he wants. Originally, Galactus' size is about 28 feet, 9 inches, and weighs 18.2 tons. The glimpse of him that is shared in the film might be him on a smaller stage.

Fans are hoping that further peeks from the film might reveal a bigger size of the villain that will be more accurate to his comic book avatar.

Created by Stan Lee; Galactus was previously a mortal one who later transformed into a celestial being. He consumes planets as a means of sustaining himself. Such details are crucial to Galactus' portrayal on screen and will most likely not be ignored by the studio. Further revelations might reveal a different variant of a villain. All we have to do now is wait.

More details on Fantastic Four: First Steps

The second reboot of the iconic superhero team will be directed by Matt Shakman and is being written by Jeff Kaplan. The film follows a retro-futuristic aesthetic set in the 60s as the family gears up to defend Earth against Galactus and his minions.

The film has been one of the most-awaited projects from Marvel, and the new cast has made things even more exciting.

Fantastic Four: First Steps' official synopsis reads,

“Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”

Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to release on July 25, 2025.
