The ongoing feud between NBA superstar LeBron James and ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith took a turn when James responded to Smith’s bold claim that he would have swung at him. LeBron responded with a video showcasing Smith’s boxing skills, which he captioned as:

"WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP.”

This was seen as an effort to mock Stephen A. Smith’s fighting skills.

The post has caused huge waves in the world of social media with fans being impressed by LeBron James’ ability to troll. One fan quipped how Kendrick Lamar’s music may influence LeBron James’ response since the rapper is famous for dissing others:

"You can tell Bron been listening to a lot of Kendrick lately"
"LeBron got Stephen A. in shambles right now," wrote one fan.
"Let’s be real LeBoxer is knocking Stephen a fraud out cold," quipped another.
"I respect @stephenasmith immensely, but come on my guy. Ain’t no one on earth believe you were gonna fight LeBron," commented a X user.
"This isn’t even post retirement Bron and he’s still going crazy," said another user.

While most of the comments online trolled Stephen A. Smith for his statement there were very few who defended him and commented that someone of LeBron’s status shouldn't be getting indulged in these types of controversies:

"Weird from LeBron I’ve never seen an athlete as prolific as him beefing this badly with a random media person not a good look," said one internet user.
"At the end of the day, Stephen A Smith got LeBron to post him on his page," commented another.
"He’s so corny man this is why Jordan is the goat," remarked a NBA fan.

A deeper dive into the feud between LeBron James and Stephen A. Smith

Smith previously implied that Bronny James, who currently plays in the G League, was not yet ready for the NBA. The tension between the two increased when LeBron James appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and threw shade at Smith for being hyper-fixated on his son’s career.

Stephen A. Smith responded by defending himself on his YouTube show, calling LeBron a liar who misrepresented their conversation. During his show, Smith also stated that he was ready to throw hands if LeBron had touched him during a recent game. He said:

"I would have gotten my a** kicked because had that man put his hands on me, I would have immediately swung on him. Immediately. That, I’m not gonna tolerate."

The comment did not get past LeBron James. On Thursday morning, he shared a viral video of Smith flailing awkwardly during a boxing workout.

According to a report by Outkick, the video had shown Smith with terrible footwork and haphazard strikes being thrown all over the ring.
