Den of Thieves 2: Pantera is crushing it in box office numbers, with a collection of $15.5 million since its release domestically. All in all, the Gerard Butler film has earned $20.5 million globally at the time of writing. The film was released on January 10, 2025, across 3008 theatres on the first day.

The film was released alongside Robbie Williams' Better Man, which failed to perform as was expected. While the domestic release brought the creators just above $1 million, it was released much sooner internationally, making the current accumulation $10 million at the time of writing.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera is still a far cry from the prequel

The Christian Gudegast film opened to nearly $6 million on January 10, 2025, and followed the pattern for the next day domestically. However, the third day proved dull comparatively, with $4 million collected.

It has begun, so numbers are to come, but it is a far cry from the numbers Part One garnered throughout its box office run. It collected $80 million on a $30 million budget. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera was developed on a $40 million budget for that matter.

On the other hand, Better Man was developed on a budget more than both Den of Thieves films combined. It opened with a limited release in the US on 25 December 2024 before a wider release on January 10, while it opened theatrically the following day in the UK and Australia.

Although Robbie Williams' film is performing poorly at the box office, it sits with a better score from the critics in contrast to both the Den of Thieves films. While the audience at IMDb has given it a 7.7 rating out of 10, it sits fresh with 87% approval on Rotten Tomatoes.

As a new entry, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera ran past some heavy hitters that topped the Christmas box office and stayed. Day three for the Gerard Butler film was close as Mufasa: The Lion King was cut short by a minor sum, garnering $3.7 million on January 12, 2025.

Other films that topped the charts include Moana 2, Nosferatu, Wicked, and more. Some anticipated films are scheduled to come out this month, too, including Presence, Flight Risk, Companion, and more.
