Radio host Charlemagne Tha God has praised Donald Trump after comparing him to a fascist dictator during one of the episodes on The Breakfast Club. His recent comments on Trump have sparked an internet debate. In the segment, Charlemagne commended Trump for opposing New York’s congestion pricing plan that aims to charge vehicles entering Manhattan at peak hours. He argued that the move affects the working class who are dependent on their vehicles for commuting.
"Listen, here’s the thing. This is why I keep telling folks, you know, whether you voted for the person or not, when the person does something that you agree with, I’m all for it," Charlamagne said. "I don’t want these congestion prices in New York City … Do your thing, Trump. Do your thing." He added.
Previously, in an interview with AC360 Charlemagne was critical of CNN’s Donald Trump coverage. Charlemagne said CNN “assisted in the normalization of Donald Trump’s fascism.” He expressed his frustration with how the network focuses on less important issues rather than focusing on Trump’s rhetoric and actions. He pointed out how MAGA rally coverage was taken as normal and how white supremacy that comes with him in power goes unnoticed.
