More about the incident, as Dylan Efron narrates heroic deed

Dylan Efron appeared on the Brooke & Connor Make a Podcast on Thursday, April 17, where he talked about several things, from his career as an influencer to traveling. This is when he recounted a specific moment from one of his trips to South Beach. The host, Connor Wood, asked Efron:

"Speaking of being in deep water, you just saved, two young women from drowning in Miami?"

To this question, Efron replied:

"It's really random. I showed up to the beach. It's like my first time in South beach, like on the beach. And [I] walk up to the shore for the first time ever, and I’m looking out and it was just people screaming in the water.”

Dylan Efron continued, saying that although he knew it was not sharks, he understood the strong currents were taking someone away.

"No, I thought the currents were ripping. I thought it was rip current. I just saw like five girls. There's people on the shore with their hands up."

Dylan Efron added that he and his friend jumped into action upon seeing the women, as he noticed there were no lifeguards around.

"So I looked around like there were no guards around. I was with my buddy, Brennan and Sam Asghari was there too. Me and Brennan just looked at each other and sprinted out. Two wwere like too closest to us. There was this guy helping one of them, and there was three out further."

He further shared:

"So I swam one back in, then swam back for another girl. It was- I don't know, it really real. For the last girl, I swam in, I was like trying to calm her down saying, 'breathe, breathe,' and she just wrapped me and gave me the biggest huglg ever. So we hugged like for a full minute. So I am like hugging this girl, 'You are safe, you are good' and then I walked away. She never said a word to me."

The Traitors star then added that although he did not mention the incident to anyone, a news publication released the story of his heroic act.

"Then my agent was liked 'oh my gosh, are you okay! You save someone!' And I was like 'did I tell you that, how do you know this,' and then she sent me the article."

Dylan Efron further added that the currents were particularly strong on that day, and because he is an experienced swimmer, he was able to save those women and protect himself.
