Lewis Hamilton has begun a new chapter of his life as he is making his Scuderia Ferrari debut. While it is a special time for the F1 driver as he is taking another step forward in his career, he ensured to make it memorable by paying homage to Matthew Broderick's 1986 movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
While many might think he must have shared a scene from the movie, Hamilton went an extra mile and joined the movie's original cast, with the help of editing. He squeezed himself in the movie's iconic scene when Ferris Bueller's Ferrari gets stolen.
Hamilton took up the role of a car garage attendant who steals the car and takes it for a speedy drive. To further amaze the audience, he also had actor Edward Norton participate in the skit.
In the caption, Lewis Hamilton penned how it was a "dream" of his to recreate the iconic scene. He wrote,
"No better way to start the season than by fulfilling another dream."
He further added how the Matthew Broderick starrer has been one of his favorite movies since his childhood. While the clip looks pleasing, he confirmed that it took a lot of "tech, production and planning."
"Ferris Bueller’s Day Off has been one of my favourite movies since I was a kid. This is to pay homage to the iconic film and to celebrate my first season with Ferrari. It definitely took a lot of cutting edge tech, production and planning to get right. Had to get the exact car too … it’s been a dream car since seeing the movie."
He further shouted out to "legendary" Edward Norton "for coming along for the ride." Moreover, he confirmed that "this is the energy and excitement I’m bringing to the track this year."
Fans are lauding Hamilton for his heartwarming homage to his beloved movie. An Instagram user penned how their "brain can’t even comprehend how incredible this is." Several others asked if there is anything Hamilton does not know how to do.
