Soulja Boy tweeted,

"Yo @elonmusk what you think about buying TikTok? Or will running X and that platform be too much on the table?"

"I can't believe y'all just gon' let them ban TikTok like that" - says Soulja Boy about TikTok getting banned in the US

In April 2024, when Joe Biden signed a bill initiating the countdown for the Chinese company ByteDance to sell its app within 270 days if it wants to operate in the U.S., Soulja Boy took to X, expressing his disapproval of the decision.

The rapper offered to purchase the company as well. In his tweet he said,

" I can't believe y'all just gon' let them ban TikTok like that, and y'all think it's funny. If they do it to this app, they can do it to any app or site. Not cool, (for real). Y'all will see later."

When a user responded to his tweet and said why he doesn't shift his attention to other social media networking sites such as Instagram or Facebook, the rapper responded by saying,

"You might don't see it now, but TikTok is more important than any other platform right now. That's why they're trying to ban it. Trust me."

The rapper also questioned ByteDance, about how much would they sell TikTok for by saying, "How much y'all want for TikTok? I'll buy it." Soulja Boy also noted that by doing so he'd be the "first rapper to buy a social media platform."
