Damon Wayans is accusing the late Robin Williams of stealing other comedians' jokes.

In a video going viral on X, the comedian cum actor can be heard telling Shannon Sharpe on the former NFL star’s podcast series Club Shay Shay this week that Williams' manager would write a check out to anyone whose jokes he stole. He also claimed that it was well-known in the industry that Williams was a "thief," noting that his peers would not go on stage if they knew he was there.

Fans have since begun slamming the comedian, suggesting that he refrain from speaking about the late comedian. Here's what one user penned on X, for instance:

"Let that man rest in peace bro"

Here's how the rest of X is reacting:

"It’s a strong possibility. I’m not siding with the hollyweird liberal wayans family but this doesn’t seem like a lie," someone claimed.
"I know it’s not pleasant to hear, but aye man, it is what it is. It doesn’t hurt his legacy imo because comedians like Robin Williams & Jim Carrey got their legend status from acting more so than standup," another noted.
"He’s no longer living, why bring this up now? He’ hating! Robin Williams is one of the most successful comedians of all time and actors as well. Remember, he crossed over into drama style acting, Damon Wayans has never done that," yet another chimed in.

Even more joined the discourse to slam Damon Wayans:

"Losers tryna discredit legends," someone noted.
"I wonder if he feels like that now because he’s made it or did he also feel like that back in the day?" another wondered.

Droves online felt as if he had to say something. It should have been done when Williams was alive, and not now, over a decade after his demise.

Here's everything Damon Wayans said of the late Robin Williams:

Speaking with Shannon Sharpe this week, Damon Wayans said of the late Robin Williams:

"Robin Williams was a notorious thief. I ain't lying."

He also alleged that Williams' manager used to "walk around with a checkbook" and pay anyone who could come forth and accuse Williams of stealing from them. Damon Wayans also claimed that comedians would not go on stage when they learned Williams was around out of fear that he would plagiarize their work.

"It happened. But, I always look at comedy like this: if this is not the last joke that I'm ever gonna tell, I ain't gonna treat it like that. You ain't take my wife or my kid. It's just a joke. That means I gotta think of something else," Wayans said. He added, "But for people to be all up in arms about a joke? Really, what is the joke? Did the joke end the war in the Middle East? Was it that powerful? Then whatchu trippin' over?"

Robin Williams died by suicide in August 2014 in Paradise Cay, Tiburon, California.
