As per the latest reports, Babylon helmer, Damien Chazelle, will soon start the production of a biographical film on Evel Knievel, the late American stunt performer. Academy Award-winning star, Leonardo DiCaprio, will also reportedly be a part of the upcoming biopic, Evel Knievel On Tour.

Chazelle reportedly mentioned in a statement to Vanity Fair that he is currently engaged with two projects and one of them is the above-mentioned DiCaprio starrer. However, at that time he did not confirm for which project he would start rolling first. But a newer report via Production Weekly has mentioned that Evel Knievel On Tour will feature the stunt devil Evel Knievel.

Damien Chazelle's Evel Knievel On Tour will star Leonardo DiCaprio

Evel Knievel On Tour is reportedly being written by William Monahan, who was the screenwriter for the 2006 classic, The Departed. He will also be joined by The Wolf of Wall Street's writer, Terrence Winter. Surprisingly, the upcoming biopic star, Leonardo DiCaprio, played pivotal roles in both of these movies.

The upcoming biography will reportedly portray events from 1974 when Evel made a deadly attempt to jump across Idaho's Snake River. The jump was a failure because of mechanical errors in parachute deployment. However, Evel managed to escape with only minor injuries, though it was a close call.

The film will reportedly be a 'mid-budget' drama, rumored to be shot in a prison. The story will have elements of action and intense build-up surrounding the stunt performer's professional career, who is known for his bad temper.

Chazelle also stated that the script has almost been wrapped up and now they are waiting to get the green light from a potential film studio. As per a report by Daniel Richtman, Paramount has responded in ways but nothing has been confirmed so far.

DiCaprio was initially supposed to be a part of Chazelle's historical comedy-drama, Babylon (2022). However, he had to discontinue because of overlapping schedules and Fight Club star Brad Pitt took his place.
