Vice President Kamala Harris is in the final leg of campaigning in Philadelphia, and several A-listers are rallying behind her. During her "Get Out the Vote" rallies, artists like DJ Cassidy, Fat Joe, Freeway and Just Blaze, Lady Gaga, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Ricky Martin are all joining the Democratic Presidential nominee.
While there, the celebrities, also including The Roots, Jazmine Sullivan, Adam Blackstone, and Oprah, are all banding together to host a concert and a rally on November 4 night, the week before Election Day. According to the official event website, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Fat Joe, and Oprah will be taking to the stage to address the crowd.
Kamala Harris cops endorsements from over 200 celebrities, including Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen
The event is slated to take place at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, just off of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. This means that the Art Museum will be closed for the day, a spokesperson confirmed to CBS.
Lady Gaga, who will also be joining Kamala Harris in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, took to Instagram to share the news. Accompanied by a video of herself, she can be heard saying:
"It’s time to get ready to vote — I’ll see you guys in Pennsylvania."
According to CBS, the campaign announcement read:
"These artists and public figures are trusted voices for millions of Americans, who listen to their music, follow them on social media, or otherwise are inspired by them."
As for Katy Perry, the singer will be headlining the rally in Pittsburgh on Monday night, where Andra Day, DJ Arie Cole, and D-Nice will also make an appearance.
Furthermore, she is also expected to show up at the rally in Philadelphia, and the two events are slated to run simultaneously from 5 pm—10 pm EST. Kamala Harris is expected to show up in person in both events.
Bruce Springsteen addressed last week's Philadephia rally to say:
"I understand folks have different opinions about things, but this election is about a group of folks who want to fundamentally undermine our American way of life. Donald Trump doesn’t understand this country, its history, or what it means to be deeply American.”
Moreover, Kamala Harris has also bagged the endorsement of Jon Bon Jovi. On Saturday, November 2, Bon Jovi delivered a rendition of The People House and Livin' on a Prayer, alongside singer-songwriters Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter, during the rally in Charlotte, North Carolina. Notably, he was in recovery at the time, having undergone vocal cord surgery.
He said to the crowd:
"Thank you very much. My name is Jon Bon Jovi and I am very proud to be here today in support of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to be the next president and vice president of these United States of America. Today, I have chosen not to talk about policy and have come here today not to sling any mud at anybody. I have one simple question for the people of North Carolina and America: Who can we rely on to unite when we are at our most divided?"
He went on:
"This great nation adopted a motto in the year 1782, 'e pluribus unum,' which in Latin translates 'out of many, one.' Those words ring very true today. Now, we can move forward together, embracing what makes us different, which is actually what does make America great, and I believe with all my heart in the next generation. We can move forward with this next generation but we need them to understand that the dream is very much alive and well because we the people hold the power to decide our future and North Carolina may very well decide who wins this election. It's true."
Jon Bon Jovi continued, urging North Carolina to "march forward to the polls," and "make your voices heard. Go vote Tuesday, November 5."
Kamala Harris, who kick-started her presidential campaign in July, has since bagged the endorsements of over 200 celebrities across the film and entertainment industry, including, but not limited to, Demi Lovato, Chapel Roan, Selena Gomez, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, and more.
