"This was in 2022, he was incredibly kind and humble. I didn't realize who he was at the time - I just saw people asking for photos, and I took some too. It wasn't until later that someone told me who he was. I might take this post down sicne I don't know if sharing is the right thing to do."

"Not experiencing college, at least for a semester, that was my biggest regret" - said Kendrick Lamar

In 2012, during an interview with Fuse, Kendrick Lamar opened up about his biggest regret, which was not attending college. Lamar noted that now with his busy schedule, it would be too difficult to focus on university,

"Not experiencing college, at least for a semester, that was my biggest regret, doing it while I was in my teens. Now, all these years have passed, I done got deep into a musical career, it’s gonna be hard to find time unless I really put my focus into it.”

In a 2015 Rolling Stone interview published on June 22, Lamar mentioned that going to college will always be in the back of his mind,

Kendrick Lamar noted that he "could have" and "should have" gone to college, mentioning that he was contemplating going and that it's not too late.

Lamar has made multiple appearances in different colleges to motivate students while reminding them of the importance of getting a degree. In June 2024, the rapper went to Compton College to give a speech during the commencement ceremony and said,

"This degree that y'all have right here is just as big as any degree. I don't care what school. I don't care what institution."

Kendrick Lamar visited High Tech High School in North Bergen in 2015, where he spent time with students at the school. The students performed spoken word sessions and rap with the rapper, with Lamar talking about his inspiration behind writing songs.
