Country music sensationKelsea Ballerini was unable to continue with her concert at Buffalo, NY, on February 6 due to illness. After only a few songs, she had to end the show, prompting a representative to take the stage and inform the audience that she was too sick to continue performing.
In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter), on February 7, the 'Peter Pan' singer apologized for cutting her show short and further explained the reasons behind the decision.
"Buffalo, I am so, so sorry that I could not finish the show tonight. I am sicker than I’m trying to be, and I did not want to let anyone down tonight, and I just got through the first few songs and I couldn’t do it. I’m so sorry, but I never want to give you a half-*ss show."
The singer who has been suffering from a case of severe flu continues:
"We are rescheduling tonight, Buffalo, tomorrow, Pittsburgh, and the next day, Toronto, to the end of the tour...and I will make them the best shows I’ve ever played in my whole life, and I will pull out every stop for you, and I will make it so worth it,” she said.
"I’m going to go rest now, and get better, so I can really show up for the rest of this tour, and I hope you understand, and thank you for the grace to be human, and I love you,” she added.
Last week, during her performance at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, The Voice coach talked about feeling under the weather as she powered through her performance:
"But here’s the tea. I’m also a perfectionist, and I also have this crippling fear of letting people down. So I’m gonna give you absolutely every ounce of everything I have left in the tank tonight." she said addressing the crowd before the concert.
Speculation quickly arose following Kelsea Ballerini's bouts of illness, with some fans making unfounded assumptions.
The Love Me Like You Mean It singer addressed the rumor head-on with a dry-witted reply saying:
"Or maybe it’s the flu".
MaRynn Taylor, the opening act for Kelsea Ballerini, also posted a message of support on her Instagram story. She assured fans that Ballerini, despite being sick gave it her all, pushing herself all the way, but in the end, her vocal cords ultimately couldn't hold up.
