Kayla Nicole, Travis Kelce's ex-beau, recently sat down to chat on Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel. The YouTuber shared that her ex dumped her over SMS, and then moved on to another popular singer/actress right after.
Soon, fans began linking the anecdote to Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert. However, the former took to IG stories to call the story "distasteful" and "uncalled for."

Kayla Nicole also revealed that the two had become “another iconic celebrity relationship," leaving her “devastated" and "heartbroken.”
More notably, she revealed she had dressed up as her ex's new lover the following Halloween. What drove fans to link it to Taylor was that Nicole was spotted in the same outfit the former wore in Ye's Fade music video in 2015.

During the podcast, Kayla Nicole said:
"So I was dating a guy, and he dumped me through a text message. And he dumped me for this singer/actress who was famous at the time. He dumped me for her. Lied about it for months then popped out with her and it became this public thing."
She also revealed that her ex noticed her Halloween outfit stunt and dubbed her “a crazy person.”
When Taylor, who was married to Iman from 2016 to 2023, caught on to the speculations, she took to IG to share her side of the story. In a now-deleted comment on The Shade Room's post, she stated:
"F**k the Iman part, I’m divorced and happily so, however her choice of words were very distasteful and uncalled for. She knew exactly what she was doing. That lady said ‘she was famous at the time’ also said ”idc who see it’ it was very distasteful & uncalled for. Most importantly she knew people would dig. So automatically my name is attached to the nonsense. At that point she didn’t need to @ me, that was clearly a quick search."
The lengthy comment continued, as she took shots at Kayla Nicole:
"She pulled the Black card when it came to Taylor Swift, but in the same circle, turned around and tried to bully the Black woman that was married to her situationship she claimed ‘dumped her’ for me. Dressing up like me for what? Crazy part about all this is, I actually showed love under her pic when she posted it. Like I did the other 3736262626 people that dressed up as me for Halloweeen. Whole time I ain’t even know she was being shady. Now I do. so in that case petty panties on. I had my lil fun I said what the f**k I said & now I’m done and headed back to set.”
Kayla responds to the speculations, urges fans to look at it as a mistake
Notably, Kayla Nicole wielded X to point out that her comments had been wrongly dissected. She tweeted that her intention was to help a fellow woman out by learning from her mistakes, and that she was not a fan of her own past actions.
"I will continue to speak on my life experiences when I see fit with zero shame, because it’s my story to tell. And if it helps just one woman avoid the tough lessons I’ve learned, my obstacles will not have been in vain."
In a follow-up tweet, Kayla Nicole stated:
"Sometimes I’m asked about my personal life and decide to share the lessons I’ve learned. To reiterate what I said in the hour long interview - learn from my mistakes. If u watched in its entirety, you’d know I don’t condone the “crazy” decision I made literally 10 YEARS AGO.
Iman Shupert and Teyana reportedly began seeing each other in 2013. However, they took things to the next level when they made it red carpet official the following year, at the BET Hip Hop Awards. They tied the knot in 2015, but come January 2023, Taylor filed for divorce.
