Gracie Abrams addresses the "wildly uncool" fan petition to replace Dora Jar as an opening act for her upcoming UK and Europe tour. This comes after the pop artist and Dora Jar announced on January 24 that she would be opening for Abrams for her tours in March, including shows in Nottingham, Leeds, London, Manchester, Cardiff, Dublin, and Glasgow.
An anonymous social media user using the name "Dexter Morgan" launched a Change.org petition, which is now deleted, saying,
"Many fans, including myself are baffled by the recent announcement...We are perplexed as we do not recognize her, and with less than two weeks till the tour, it's virtually impossible to familiarize ourselves with her slow-paced songs."
According to Morgan, the opening act should set the tone and excite the audience in order to make the concert unforgettable. He also mentioned that Dora's music has a slow tempo. The person who started the petition recommended that Gracie Abrams substitute a more popular and vivacious performer or group as her opening act.
Gracie Abrams, as a response, took to comment on an Instagram post from Stereogum, reacting to the fan's comments on Dora, saying,
"Just hearing about this absolute ridiculousness...so wildly uncool and bizarre and also just does not remotely add up. I've only seen everyone's excitement and I couldn't be luckier or prouder to share a stage with this talented wonder. Stream everything she's ever made whether or not you're coming to the show. Dora forever and ever."

Gracie Abrams, after commenting on an Instagram post about a fan petition to replace Dora Jar with "a more well-known energetic artist or band," reshared the screenshot of her comment on Instagram stories on January 26, saying,
"Hi reiterating this and then dropping it. I am so excited to share a stage with this gem of an artist. Love you Dora (heart emoji)."
Jar had also responded to the petition on January 24 on X, saying that the fan petition doesn't "bum" her out. She also mentioned that she is there to perform for all of the open-minded, music-loving fans. Dora mentioned that for those fans that are not interested in her music, "can go buy merch" while she's playing.
The singer later joked on X that she had also "signed the petition."
