Julie Gonzalo speaks about her filming experience with My Argentine Heart by Hallmark 

Julie Gonzalo starred in My Argentine Heart, which was released on the Hallmark channel on January 18. She has appeared in a number of Hallmark films over the years, such as The Novel Noel, Happy Holidays From Cherry Lane, Jingle Bell Bride, etc. This most recent movie will be available on Hallmark+, their streaming service, on January 19.

It also stars Juan Pablo Di Pace (Diego). This movie follows the story of Abril (played by Gonzalo) who returns to her home country of Argentina to save her family ranch. There, she meets her ex, and the two bond again to tackle an issue.

Julie Gonzalo talks about LA wildfires and shooting My Argentine Heart

During a Facebook Live for My Argentine Heart, Julie Gonzalo opened up about her experience of shooting for the Hallmark film. Calling it one of the best experiences she has ever had, the actress stated that she always dreamt of shooting in Argentina.

She said,

“I did always have the dream that it would happen, but I didn’t think it would happen this quickly.”

During the live, Gonzalo also mentioned the Los Angeles wildfires that have impacted the region. The Veronica Mars actress has been living in LA for the past twenty years.

She said:

"I would briefly like to address the Los Angeles fires that are happening right now. It’s really hard to talk about something so fun and so amazing and a really lovely experience that I had a couple of months ago, shooting this movie, while all of this is happening."

The actress went on to talk about the lives that are impacted by the fire and how horrifying she finds the entire situation to be.

“It feels just horrific to watch, and I can’t imagine being affected right now, as so many are.”

Gonzalo concluded her point by extending her thoughts to the lives directly affected by the fire. She said,

“Before I do speak about something so beautiful, I do want to say that my heart is with you, and my thoughts are with you if you have been affected.”

My Argentine Heart is a romantic comedy and a part of the Winter Escape. The film premiered on January 18, 2025. The story revolves around a woman named Abril who travels to Argentina to be with her family, where her ex is also present. Together, they try to save the ranch her family owns.

Gonzalo also mentioned that she was speaking in Spanish during the shoot. She explained:

"I was raised in an Argentinian house my entire life, I still speak Spanish to my parents […] were all relatively close in age. So I think we all had the same upbringing. We had the same foods we love, we had the same music we love."
