According to Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa, Hollywood couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are allegedly going through a "PR crisis."
In response to their latest photos, the Norwegian journalist claimed that Lively has been feigning sadness as part of a ploy to get the media on her side. She stated in a video uploaded on YouTube on April 9, 2025:
“Also in the news again, Blake Lively has left the house. These are paparazzi pictures of her and Ryan Reynolds. Blake looks kind of sad in the photos so I'm thinking it so it might seem like this is her new PR trick….”
She alleged,
“I think Blake and Ryan are going through a real humongous PR crisis right now and they're trying everything in their power to look good or to get sympathy or empathy.. but I don't think it's working..”
Flaa was seemingly referring to pictures of the couple taken recently at an equestrian competition in South Salem, New York.
Kjersti Flaa claims Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are involved in an elaborate PR stunt: Here's all we know
The Daily Mail first broke the news on April 10 that Ryan Reynolds was seen leaving New York on Wednesday, April 9. The outlet described him as looking "stern" as he made his way through the airport with his assistant.
The outlet also claimed that, according to inside sources, Blake Lively is grappling with a growing sense of "regret" over her ongoing legal disputes with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni.
In the same video, Kjersti Flaa alleged that the pictures are nothing but a PR stunt, and that the pair have deliberately selected the photos showing Lively looking downcast with great care in order to hand-deliver to the outlet to possibly sway public sentiment in their favor. Later in the video, she stated:
“You know the paparazzi could have just chosen or the Daily Mail could have chosen the picture where she looks sad. But it is very different like Lively from the one we saw last week where she was working in a donut shop.”
She was referring to March 30, when Blake Lively was spotted at Rise Doughnuts in Wilton. At the time, she surprised customers by working behind the counter. Flaa went on, calling into question the authenticity of the pictures:
“Who knows how those pictures got to Daily Mail.. It might be that they hired someone to come and take photos and they picked the photos where she looked sad and depressed.”
In a bid to explain how the paparazzi allegedly work, Kjersti Flaa explained how some celebrities allegedly manage their public image by tipping off photographers:
“Celebrities call the paparazzi to come and take photos of them... For example… Someone like Stefani who would call the paparazzi… Not herself obviously but her people would.. And say that she's going to be outside of this carpet store at this hour... You can come and take as many photos as you want…”
At the time of writing, Kjersti Flaa's claims remain unverified. Neither Blake Lively nor Ryan Reynolds has publicly addressed the rumors or commented in the video.
