Jonathan Majors, an American actor, has been caught up in a legal and public scandal related to allegations of domestic abuse against his former partner, Grace Jabbari.

An audio recording obtained by the Rolling Stone recently has emerged, which seems to show Majors confessing to having physically attacked Jabbari. The audio has renewed interest in their complicated relationship and its subsequent legal battles.

Majors, who stars in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Creed III, met Grace Jabbari, a dancer and movement coach, in August 2021 while shooting the Marvel movie in London. The two moved fast, and Jabbari would later call their romance fiery and passionate, as reported by Distractify.

But as their relationship developed, so did accounts of controlling behavior and emotional distress. In one court testimony, Grace Jabbari said that Jonathan Majors was charming and affectionate at first and said he loved and admired her deeply.

But by December 2021, she started to see signs of Majors’ temper after an argument over a personal story that included her ex-partner's dog. Over time, instances of emotional manipulation reportedly increased, with Jabbari saying that Majors would often become angry if he felt disrespected or insecure.

As of March 2023, their relationship turmoil had increased and it seemed like they had officially broken up. Later the same year, Majors was charged with multiple counts of assault and harassment in New York.

More about the recent audio file addressing Jonathan Majors’ abuse and assault

A serious fight allegedly took place in September 2022, when the couple was living in London. According to Grace Jabbari, Jonathan Majors assaulted her by throwing her into a car, dragging her back inside their house, and strangling her.

The allegation first appeared in legal filings and is now being confirmed by an audio recording obtained by Rolling Stone. In the audio, Jonathan Majors is purportedly heard saying:

"I've never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I've never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.

When Jabbari pointed out that the actor pushed her towards a car and physically abused her, Majors could be heard agreeing to her statements. On the other hand, he can be heard blaming Jabbari for provoking him, stating that he has only been angry and abusive towards her alone and no other women.

"Yes, all those things are under 'aggressed,' yeah, that's never happened to me.

He has never publicly apologized for the alleged actions. Despite the legal turmoil, Jonathan Majors has remained active in Hollywood, with many upcoming films. In November 2024, Majors became engaged to actress Meagan Good.
