Known for his quirky sense of humor, stand-up comedian John Mulaney is currently making headlines. On his Netflix variety chat show, he recently took a shot at the renowned television host and producer Ellen DeGeneres. In the latest episode of Everybody's Live with John Mulaney, the comedian, allegedly—or one might say jokingly—compared parenting his 3-year-old toddler to working on Ellen DeGeneres' popular talk show.

Mulaney, who is the father of two, shares a son, Malcolm, and a daughter, Mei, with actress Olivia Munn. The 42-year-old comedian, during his monologue on the April 16 episode of the Netflix chat show, said:

"You know what having a 3-year-old is like?"

Mulaney went ahead, showcasing a displeased expression, and said:

"Having a 3-year-old is what I imagine working on Ellen’s show was like. Because people come over and they’re like, ‘How is it?’ And you’re, like, ‘Oh, it’s fine. You know, we have fun. There’s games."

The comedian continued:

" 'Some days are hard. But it’s fun, you know! We have dancing, you know. So if he starts dancing, you dance, but if he stops dancing, you f*cking stop dancing right away' ".

John Mulaney, widely known for his comedy specials and sitcoms, according to reports, has previously been to rehab as he suffered from cocaine addiction and alcoholism. As things were getting out of control, he decided to check himself into rehab, which helped him get better. The actor/stand-up comedian just welcomed his daughter, Mei, last September, with his wife, Olivia Munn.

As Mulaney took a shot at Ellen DeGeneres on the latest episode of his chat show, he also shared a story about attending his son Malcolm's school concert, where his son was supposed to sing along with his other classmates. However, due to stage fright, he backed off. Mulaney, in his monologue, shared an interesting observation regarding kids of Malcolm's age, and said:

"It’s hard to get toddlers to perform together. They’re all divas of their own kind. It’s hard to get them in a group. Because every toddler at heart is the star of their own show."

Ellen DeGeneres, besides being a prominent television host, is also a stand-up comedian, actress, and writer. According to a report by BuzzFeed in 2020, she was accused of creating a toxic work culture on the sets of her talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The accusations came mainly from her former staffers, who chose to remain anonymous.

After the controversial accusations made against her, Ellen was again seen hitting the stage in Santa Rosa in 2024 for her three-night stand-up show, which was a part of Ellen's Last Stand...Up tour. As per certain reports, the former talk show host no longer lives in America, as she sold her Montecito estate and moved to the United Kingdom along with her wife, Portia de Rossi.

The couple moved to the English countryside in response to Donald Trump winning the 2024 elections, as suggested by reports. They currently live in a farmhouse in the Cotswolds, which is a rural area located in south-central England. After moving away from the spotlight, Ellen is focusing on her personal life, which also includes gardening and raising chickens. She hasn't made announcements regarding any upcoming projects.
