John Krasinski shares exciting first look of upcoming Jack Ryan movie

John Krasinski has played the role of Jack Ryan for four seasons on Prime Video's highly acclaimed series. As the show continues to be a success, Krasinski is also gearing up for a movie version of the series.

Sharing his first look from the upcoming movie, the actor and filmmaker shared a photo of himself on Instagram donning a suit and looking down at the skyline. In the caption, he wrote,

So. Good. To be. Back! #JackRyanMovie is off and running!!! HUGE thank you to all the inCREDible folks here in Dubai for letting us kickoff in epic fashion in your beautiful city! Here we go!!

After the success of the show's fourth and final season, Krasinski geared up for a film version of his titular character. As reported by Deadline, the series was renewed into a movie, and seeing the popularity of the previous installments, we can safely assume that Jack Ryan will most probably be a success. The film has not yet finished production and has not yet settled on a release date as of now.

Andrew Bernstein is directing the film while Aaron Rabin is writing it. Apart from Krasinski, the film features Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly. More information on the film's cast has been kept under wraps for now.

What is Jack Ryan about?

The political action thriller is an adaptation of Tom Clancy's novels and a part of the "Ryanverse" created by the author. Krasinski plays CIA analyst Jack Ryan, who gets involved in multiple dangerous missions that have political effects on the country. The action thriller is also produced by Krasinski, along with Andrew Form.

The plot of the film has been kept under wraps for now as it is still under production, but if we can be assured about one thing, then it's that the film will be a powerhouse of action similar to its predecessors.

Krasinski has often expressed his love for Jack Ryan. In 2023, the actor opened up on what he thinks is the appeal for Ryan and told Variety,

“Jack Ryan is one of those characters where he’s sort of an action hero and sort of just a regular guy which I really love. I mean, there’s something about Jack Ryan that I think is such a great hero for right now. He doesn’t have a cape, he doesn’t have stuff flying out of his hands. He’s just a guy with his brain and his instincts and he’s trying to figure things out.”
