As per reports, Jennifer Aniston is rumoured to be eyeing Zendaya, Ariana Grande and Sydney Sweeney for a 9 to 5 remake. The 1980s comedy classic 9 to 5 by Colin Higgins featuring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, Dabney Coleman, Elizabeth Wilson and Sterling Hayden have had a huge cult following, and hence, a remake of the film is being planned by the Friends star Jennifer Aniston.

9 to 5 follows the plot of three women who take matters in their own hands to fight back with their workplace's oppressive, misogynist and bigoted boss.

As per reports in Variety, Jennifer Aniston is set to co-produce the film under her production company Echo films partnering with Kristin Hahn, and also star in it as well. Aniston is looking for actors from the younger generation to be cast in the upcoming reimagination of 9 to 5, and for that she has Zendaya, Ariana Grande and Sydney Sweeney in her mind, as per reports.

As per reports in Geo TV, a source revealed to Life & Style magazine that after wrapping up the filming of the season 4 of the TV series The Morning Show, Jennifer Aniston is now all set for the remake of 9 to 5, and is looking for actors in the younger generation for its casting.

She is interested to cast some of the most popular actors of this generation, and that is, Zendaya, Ariana Grande and Sydney Sweeney. It is also revealed that Jennifer Aniston has a well written script in hand and feels that these actors can do comedy well and also their strong, loyal fan base is an important aspect too.

However, as per reports in The News, these actors are already occupied in their existing projects, so it is expected that scheduling to bring in all the three actors on board any time soon can be a bit difficult as of now.

Also, 20th Century Studios has not yet given authorization for the remake of 9 to 5 as well. Also, an insider source has mentioned to Closer that the 9 to 5 movie has held a very special place in Jennifer Aniston's heart, ever since she was little. 9 to 5 has been instrumental into bringing in a change in her life, and hence, this project means a lot to her as she is setting to make its reboot after 40 years.

The plot of 9 to 5 addresses very important and relevant issues that are still persisting till date. A remodelling of the same plotline in the context of today is certainly a very interesting idea to explore.
