DC is all set to embark on its new journey. James Gunn's DC will debut in July with the release of Superman. As fans anticipate more heroic adventures from the studio, Gunn has teased another film the studio might release soon.

As Gunn and Peter Safran sat down for a chat with journalists to update them on the new DC Universe slate and everything they have been working on, multiple projects were greenlit while they revealed the status of many upcoming adaptations. One of them was a possible movie for Teen Titans, as both the chiefs teased that the film is currently in the works.

As a reporter in the audience asked about the project, Safran said,

“The script’s not ready yet. I mean, I think we said that Ana Nogueira is writing it....No, I think it was out there. “I think it was out there.”

To which Gunn clarified and added,

“It’s out there. It was something that Ana was really impassioned about, and she turned over an amazing script for us. She’s fiddling with that now, but it’s definitely not a finished script.”

Another project the duo discussed was Clayface. They revealed that while there were initially no plans for a film about the character, the director’s involvement ultimately secured the green light. Described as a body horror film, they expressed hope that it would appeal not only to DC fans but also to a wider audience.

In July, DC will release its first James Gunn-led film, Superman that will kick off the first chapter of the studio's new era, called Gods and Monsters.

Projects in this chapter include Superman and then Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which will be released in 2026; Clayface in 2026; Batman: The Brave and the Bold; The Authority (TBA); and Swamp Thing, all of which have yet to be announced.

David Corenswet's Superman is currently the most highly anticipated film in the franchise. Fans are getting ready to revisit the Kryptonite hero's legacy with a new face. Written and directed by James Gunn, the film stars Corenswet as Superman, aka Clark Kent, opposite Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane.

The official tagline for the film reads,

“Superman,” DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind."

Superman is set to release on July 11, 2025.
