Serving as an adaptation of the classic film series, The Chronicles of Narnia, this forthcoming film of Greta Gerwig is slated to release on IMAX next year in 2026, during Thanksgiving time. Greta Gerwig is well known for helming successful films including Barbie (2023), Little Women (2019), and Lady Bird (2017).

As per reports at Deadline, actor Daniel Craig is considered to be brought on board for a role in Greta Gerwig's next directorial, The Chronicles of Narnia.

It is not clear which character Daniel Craig will play. All we know is, the makers and the actor are in talks about it. Earlier, it was reported by Deadline that singer, Charli XCX has also been considered for this project, in the role of the iconic White Witch a.k.a Jadis. Not much is known about the cast except that actor Louis Partridge has been brought on board for the film, according to Screenrant.

Daniel Craig's most recent releases include Knives Out: Glass Onion (2022) and Queer (2024). His forthcoming film is Wake Up Dead Man, serving as another installment of his famous Knives Out film franchise. It is slated to make its release on Netflix this year, in 2025.

In 2018, Netflix announced making a fresh series and films based on the original book series by C.S. Lewis that The Chronicles of Narnia is based on. They had brought Greta Gerwig on board as well.

However, news about its development has been decelerated. And now, Gerwig's film on this series shall make its IMAX on Thanksgiving next year, and then its Netflix release shall happen on Christmas 2026.

The Chronicles of Narnia follows a group of children, who step into the fantastical, magical world of Narnia.

This film franchise has three films in the series. The first one is the iconic The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (2005). It was followed by The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian in 2008, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 2010.
