We are still looking for our next James Bond, and before we get official confirmation on it, Pierce Brosnan is addressing his return as the charming agent in the critically acclaimed franchise.

Pierce Brosnan will soon be seen as a family man in the upcoming crime drama MobLand alongside Tom Hardy and Helen Mirren. He sat down with GQ to discuss it but also answered a question about him returning as the iconic James Bond. He said,

I think so. It's a rather romantic notion and idea, but I think everything changes, everything falls apart. I think that it's best left to another man, really. Fresh blood. I've heard of that. Of course, how could I not be interested? But it's a delicate situation now. I think it's best to let sleeping dogs lie, really.

Brosnan played the character between 1995 and 2002 in movies including GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), and Die Another Day (2002).

Next, we saw Daniel Craig stepping up for the role, and now he has left the shoes for someone else to fill. He last played Bond in No Time to Die (2021), which garnered $774 million globally.

This remains a significant topic on the internet, as numerous rumors have been circulating, with some suggesting that Henry Cavill could be the next superspy and others pointing to Idris Elba. There were even suggestions that David Beckham might step into the role, although the former Manchester United midfielder dismissed those rumors.

While casting is an issue, we don't even have a story or something for the next James Bond film. However, there's another news story where Deadline reported that Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, known for their association with the film series, passed the torch to Amazon MGM Studios. Now the entertainment company will have creative control over it.

Regarding the numbers, James Bond is currently the fifth highest-grossing franchise of all time, raking in over $7 billion in revenue. Skyfall (2012) was the most successful, earning over a billion dollars globally.

Barbara Broccoli once reflected on the James Bond casting, explaining how a new actor brings change to the films. Given that, we should wait and see what surprise lies ahead.
