Jaime King, an American actress and model, recently broke her silence after news broke out that her former landlord is suing her for about $42,580 in unpaid rent. She shared that though she is disappointed at what happened, she is now focusing on her kids, whose sole physical custody was recently granted to her ex-husband, Kyle Newman.

According to reports, in January, Jaime King's former landlord filed a lawsuit against her, alleging that she owed him about $42,580 in back rent. On March 24, King opened up to US Weekly about her legal troubles and shared that,
"The situation with my landlord was resolved privately...It’s disappointing — but not surprising — to see someone try to exploit this moment for attention. I am currently focused on what matters most: my children."
Further reports by US Weekly suggest that based on court documents, Jaime King was sued by her former landlord, Sheila Irani, and the legal issue also forced her to move out of her rental home in Los Angeles. It is reported that King signed a lease for the rental property in April 2023 for $10,145 per month, but it is alleged that she owes her landlady about $42,580 in unpaid rent.

Sheila Irani also alleged in her complaint that King had been "maliciously" staying in the property, but King's lawyers argued that King had been trying to raise funds but found it difficult due to the LA wildfires (that forced her to leave her home) as well as her involvement in an "active litigation concerning the custody of her children."
US Weekly further reported that Irani and King reached a settlement in which King "would hand over the keys, waive her security deposit, and vacate the premises by Saturday."
More about Jaime King and her Kids amidst divorce
Jaime King recently shared on her Instagram that she was having "Sunday Funday" with her kids Leo, nine, and James, eleven, after the sole custody of the kids was handed over to her ex-husband, Kyle Newman. In the post, you can see the trio smiling widely.
According to reports, the court ordered that though the two will share legal custody, the primary authority will be with Newman. As per People Magazine, citing court documents, Newman also has sole physical custody of the children, who will be living with him.
According to reports, Newman was given sole custody because King failed to complete a six-month rehab program as well as a 26-week parenting course.

Furthermore, King was granted visitation rights, with three supervised visits a week. The approved list of supervisors includes King's mother, sister and brother-in-law, and Newman's brother, Kevin. King and Newman, who had been married for 13 years before their divorce in 2020, previously had custody troubles.
