Former One Life to Live star Eddie Alderson, who brough Matthew Buchanan to life as a child, became a married man in late September when he wed Sylwia Pracon.
A One Life to Live reunion
Alderson's sister, Kristen Alderson, shared photos from the event on Instagram, including one with former OLTL co-stars Brittany Underwood (Langston Wilde), Nic Robuck (James Ford), Robert S. Woods (Bo Buchanan), Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord), James DePaiva (Max Holden), and Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer).
"The most magical wedding there ever was. My little brother is MARRIED!" she wrote. "It was an absolute honor being Sylly’s Maid of Honor with her gorgeous sister! Eddie was happiest groom I’ve ever seen, and I know he’ll be the best husband ever. Everyone was beaming with excitement the whole day!
Kristen Alderson, who played Starr Manning and Kiki Jerome on both OLTL and General Hospital, was also thrilled to reunite with her former OLTL co-stars.
"Not only was our wonderful blood family there but our One Life to Live family as well!" she continued. "Oh man, I hadn’t seen Kassie and Bob in such a long time, I cried when I saw them! And my besties @britt_underwood and @nicrobuck flew in to be there!?!! My heart was just bursting all night. Wishing Eddie and Sylly the most blessed and happy marriage! Love you both so much!"
Eddie Alderson's journey to wedded bliss
Eddie Alderson became beloved to soap fans when he was just six years old, playing young Matthew Buchanan. Alderson remained in the role from 2001 to 2012. In 2016, Alderson was diagnosed with lymphoma, and he chronicled parts of his cancer battle on social media. In 2019, Alderson happily announced that he was cancer-free.
"Today is a good day. A damn good day," Alderson wrote on Instagram at the time. "For the most part, I've been quite private and selective about updating the status of my health the last few years. I've shared some of the down times and some of the good times. Today, I had a scan that showed no active disease in my body. For the first time in the past three years, I am done [with] chemo and treatments," he wrote. "To think of all the ups and downs I (we) have gone through, this day is worth celebrating."
In 2022, Alderson announced his engagement to Pracon.
"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible," the actor wrote, paying homage to a line from the 1980s romcom When Harry Met Sally...
Soap Central sends best wishes to Alderson and his bride for a long and happy life together.
