Actress Chrishell Stause is opening up about the death of her beloved dog, Gracie. On March 17, Stause took to Instagram to announce that Gracie had passed away peacefully.

In the message honoring her cherished pet, Stause wrote,

β€œOur beloved Gracie left us peacefully today. Thank you to anyone that was a friend to her and helped make her life here better. It’s impossible to post a fraction of the joy this angel brought me.”

Chrishell Stause, who had adopted Gracie in 2016 according to People Magazine, is a big proponent of dog adoption. As a nod to how Gracie came into her life, Stause also shared details about her partnership with the shelter from which Gracie was adopted. Stause wrote,

β€œGracie was adopted from the @burbankanimalshelter and for the next week, if you tell them Gracie’s name, all adoption fees will be covered.”

Stause’s post honoring Gracie included numerous images and videos of Gracie enjoying alongside her and her partner, G Flip. G Flip also commented on Stause’s post, writing,

β€œYou were the most amazing momma to Gracie darling x”

G Flip, an Australian singer-songwriter, also posted on Instagram in honor of Gracie. Revealing that they and Stause chose to put Gracie to sleep, G Flip wrote,

β€œme and chrishell put our little Gracie to rest this morning. I’ll miss my little buddy very much. What a joy it was to have you in our lives little Gracie girl. I hope heaven is full of billions of treats. I will miss your kiss attacks and sending your mother photos of us being awesome together. RIP little fluff x”

Neither Stause nor G Flip have revealed the cause of Gracie’s death. G Flip did post a couple of videos of Gracie’s so-called β€œkiss attacks,” which showed the dog adorably kissing G Flip.

Chrishell Stause, who received a lot of messages of support after announcing the death of her dog, responded to her well-wishers in a comment posted to her Instagram Stories. She wrote,

β€œI’m reading all the message and texts coming in. They really do feel like receiving a much needed hug. But don’t have the energy to respond right now. But truly thank you.”

Chrishell Stause’s stance on adopting dogs

Chrishell Stause, who shot to fame with prominent roles in All My Children and Days of Our Lives before starring in Netflix’s Selling Sunset, has always been open about her advocacy of dog adoption.

In 2021, Stause partnered with animal advocacy organization PETA to help spread the message of pet adoption. In a collaboration with PETA, Stause said at the time,

β€œI think it’s important for people to adopt. We don’t want the demand for breeders, there are already too many dogs that don't have homes and some of these dogs just need Hollywood makeovers”

Continuing, she urged people to consider adopting, saying,

β€œThe dog that will be your best friend, that will change your life, be your life companion is sitting there waiting for you to come rescue it and you gotta find your doggy soulmate.”

Even in her tribute to Gracie after the dog’s death, Stause posted a video sharing the story of Gracie’s adoption. In the video, Stause could be seen sitting with Gracie in her lap, saying,

β€œI feel like people always see her and they think she’s a designer dog, and they’ll ask me where, thinking that I bought her. And I am such a strong advocate for adoption because these types of dogs are there - they need love, they need a bath, they need a haircut.”

Through Chrishell Stause’s tributes to Gracie and her strong advocacy of pet adoption, it is clear that the dog mama remained intensely devoted to providing abandoned dogs with a loving home.
