Jason Isaacs, who played the role of Lucius Malfoy in six of the eight Harry Potter films, mentioned that he found the films to be "quite boring" during a February 21 episode of BBC's The One Show. Isaacs recalled taking his godchildren, nephews, and nieces to tour the sets of the film, noting that there's "some magic that happened in those stories" and said,
"It's a terrible confession to make, they weren't that much fun to make. It's quite boring, making big special effects films. However, the pleasures all come afterwords."
He went on to add,
"I see and meet people for whom their lives were changed by it, and still people reading it and sharing it with their children. Some people say their lives were saved by it and I believe it."
Isaacs played the role of Lucius Malfoy, the controlling father of Draco Malfoy and a death eater. He appeared in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, and The Deathly Hallows - Part 1 & 2.
"Oh, I know who they're casting" - says Jason Isaacs about the upcoming Harry Potter series
Warner Bros. Discovery's Harry Potter series is set to begin filming in 2025 summer. Information about who will be playing the leading roles in the books is yet to be announced. However, while speaking to ScreenRant in an interview in early February, Jason Isaacs mentioned that he knows the cast members.
"Oh, I know who they're casting. (I know) some of them, yeah. And they're incredible actors."
Isaacs did not reveal the names of the actors. As per rumors, John Lithgow is being considered for the role of Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, and Paapa Essiedu is being considered for the role of Severus Snape.
Jason Isaacs stars in the new third season of The White Lotus. Isaacs plays the role of Timothy Ratliff, a wealthy businessman who takes his family to The White Family resort.
While speaking to Sharp Magazine in an interview published on February 24, the actor mentioned that he hadn't seen a single episode of The White Lotus before starring in the third season. He recalled attempting to watch the series with his family,
"I tried to go in the room and watch season one, and they went, 'No, no, Dad, you can't come in! You've got to start from the beginning."
In his defense, the actor mentioned that he'd missed the plot despite knowing that "it was this popular and successful show."
