Mother-daughter duo Kim Kardashian and North West appeared to have a gala time on Christmas. On December 25, 2024, Kim released a TikTok video in which the two sang and danced to Ariana Grande’s Santa Tell Me.
Kim Kardashian wore a turtleneck dress with an animal-print design while North West adorned a black hem skirt, white corset, and black tie. She complimented her outfit with a cropped jacket and knee-high boots.
However, netizens became critical of North’s look and outfit as many started comparing her to Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
It must be noted that Blue Ivy Carter is 12 years old while North West is 11 which means that Kim Kardashian’s daughter is younger than Blue Ivy.
Blue Ivy was criticized for her outfit at Mufasa: The Lion King’s premiere on December 9, 2024. She wore a long golden strapless dress and posed for pictures with her parents. Many claimed her gown was not the right fit given her age while others accused her parents of ‘oversexualizing’ their daughter. Some of the reactions to Kim’s TikTok video are:

However, irrespective of their ages, both have been subject to online scrutiny owing to their outfits. A section of netizens have defended them complimenting their outfits. For example, an online user wrote:

The visible height difference between Kim Kardashian and North West in the TikTok video also gained social media users' attention. The video initially started with North West humming to Ariana Grande’s lyrics while Kim sat. She then held her mother’s hands to join her in the performance.
Kim stood up and one could tell from the video that North appeared slightly taller than her mother even though she is just 11. An Instagram post mentioned:
“The mother-daughter duo showed off their moves in perfect sync, but what really caught everyone’s attention was how North, at just 10 years old, is already taller than her mom.”
