Liam Payne's music, originally slated to come out this Friday, will not be debuting as planned for now. Sam Pounds, a US singer-songwriter who collaborated with Payne on the track Do No Wrong, took to X to announce the decision. Liam Payne tragically passed away earlier this month at the age of 31.

Two days ago, on Monday, Sam Pounds announced on social media that he planned to release the track on November 1. He also shared presave links and a video featuring Payne, filmed by Payne's sister, Ruth Gibbins. His post included a heartfelt message about the song.

"I pray that this will be a blessing to the world like Liam has always dreamed."

Sam Pounds, Liam Payne's collaborator, says he leaves the liberties of their track up to the latter's family

On October 30, 2024, Sam Pounds issued the following statement on X:

"Today I’m deciding to hold “ Do No Wrong” and leave those liberties up to all family members. I want all proceeds go to a charity of their choosing (or however they desire). Even though we all love the song it’s not the time yet."

He continued, reflecting on the pangs of Payne's passing:

"We are all still mourning the passing of Liam and I want the family to morn in peace and in prayer. We will all wait. With love Sam Pounds."

Pounds original announcement read:

"I pray angels will comfort you all every day while listening. I pray that this song will be a blessing to Ruth, Bear, and the entire family. I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes. I pray supernatural positive healing power will embrace each and every one of you.”

Upon Payne's death, Pounds posted a separate tribute, accompanied by a video of the two in a recording studio:

"This is how I’ll always remember you, brother. The happy, funny, and talented brother, father, and friend.”

The original posts have since been deleted, save for today's announcement.

Liam Payne was reportedly found to have substances in his system

Liam Payne died on October 16, 2024, when he fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Toxicology reports have yet to go public, but according to a source for AP News, traces of cocaine and crack were found in his system.

At the time, the Strip That Down singer was in town to visit his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan as a show of support at his concert, but prolonged his stay until his untimely demise. Payne's girlfriend was with him on the trip, but just two days before the incident, she flew back home to Florida.

A funeral and memorial service has yet to take place, given that his body is still in Argentina for investigation.

During his lifetime, Payne only ever dropped one solo album, LP1, in 2019. His last single, Teardrops, came out just this March.

Liam Payne leaves behind his mother and father, Greg and Karen Payne, sisters Ruth and Nicole; his son, Bear, 7.
