Musician Larry Tamblyn, who was a member of the band, The Standells recently passed away at the age of 82. Tamblyn belonged to a famous family in which almost every member is a well-known personality in Hollywood. His brother, Russ Tamblyn is a legendary actor who has spent decades in showbiz. He is also related to actress Amber Tamblyn, who is Russ' daughter and Larry's niece.
For the unversed, Russ Tamblyn, 90, made his acting debut as a child actor. However, after training as a gymnast, he appeared in the 1954 musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. In the following years, he portrayed various roles in many movies and television shows, including Peyton Place, West Side Story, and more.
He won a Golden Globe Award in the Most Promising Newcomer Male category for the 1956 movie Hit The Deck. He has also been nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category for Peyton Place.

On the other hand, Larry Tamblyn's niece Amber also started as a child actress in the soap opera, General Hospital. She has played many significant roles in various movies and TV shows. For her role as Joan Girardi in Joan of Arcadia, she was nominated for Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
Amber is also known for playing Charlie Harper's long-lost daughter Jenny Harper in the sitcom, Two And A Half Men. In 2016, she made her directorial debut with the movie Paint It Black. Besides making and starring in movies, she is also an author and writer.
Following Larry Tamblyn's death, his nephew Dennis Tamblyn, a performing artist and the General Director of Southern Arizona Performing Arts Company, paid a heartwarming tribute via Facebook. Dennis shared the late musician's photos with his family and band. He wrote
"My uncle Larry Tamblyn passed away today. I have very fond memories of him and his family over the years. He lived an incredible life. He was in a band called 'The Standells' whose hit song 'Dirty Water' is still played to this day whenever the Red Sox or the Bruins win a home game. They also played on an episode of 'The Munsters.'"
Dennis further shared a fond memory with his uncle and penned,
"A few years ago, The Standells played at Hotel Congress here in Tucson and Larry stayed with me. It was so great to hang out with him and catch up. He was still making music well into his later years. You will be missed, Uncle Larry."

The American garage rock band The Standells was formed in 1962. It was also referred to as the "punk" band of that era. Larry Tamblyn was its lead vocalist and keyboard player, Tony Valentino was its guitarist, Jody Rich was the bass guitarist, and Benny King played the drums.
In 1966, the band recorded their hit song Dirty Water which brought them a lot of fame.
During an interview with Classic Bands, Larry Tamblyn revealed how the band was inspired by The Beatles while they were still in London. They also played in the same club as The Beatles.
Tamblyn's fans have been pouring their heartwarming tributes on social media. Many mentioned several of his band's songs and expressed how Tamblyn will always be remembered.
