One of the claims that reports have propagated is that the wedding décor would include twinkling lights featuring a holiday charm. Bezos concluded his X post by urging the news outlets who had covered and reported on the false wedding plans to issue a correction. He stated:
“Will be interesting to see if all the outlets that “covered” and re-reported on this issue a correction when it comes and goes and doesn’t happen.”

The most striking feature about the rumored wedding was the cost which reports speculated $600 million. While rejecting the number as incredible, Bill Ackman stated in his X post that such an amount would be spent only when every guest would be gifted a house. He wrote,
“This is not credible. Unless you are buying each of your guests a house, you can’t spend this much money.”
