Social media personality Andrew Tate has spoken in support of rapper Kanye West. Recently, Ye has come under controversy following his seemingly inappropriate commentary on X.
As per the latest updates, his account has been removed from the platform after the controversy. However, some speculate that the rapper deleted his account, although that is not confirmed. On February 11, 2025, Andrew Tate shared a post on the platform featuring him and Kanye West with the caption:
“Free my guy.”
His post seems to have confused social media users as Andrew Tate did not provide any context about the post. Netizens appeared bewildered regarding why he should be freed and from what. One X user asked:
“Is he in jail? Or in prison Brother?”
Social media users noted that Ye was freer than anyone else, and others questioned about the post.
“Free him from what?... from who?” a social media user inquired.
“Kanye West deleted his own account himself,” a person noted.
“He is more free than any other person in this world,” a netizen suggested.
Netizens asked whether the rapper would bring value to the platform, while others joked about the photo.
“Free from what? He disabled his own account on X,” an online user pointed out.
“Can he bring something of value to the platform for a change?” another X user asked.
“LOL! Ye is free, and returning sometime next year during a major event like the Grammys or Super Bowl,” an internet user joked.
“This picture looks like an RBF contest,” a netizen remarked.
Andrew Tate also spoke up for Kanye West in 2022 during a similar situation
In 2022, Kanye West reportedly made problematic and anti-Semitic statements, following which he was removed from major sponsorship deals by brands like Adidas and Balenciaga. Back then, Andrew Tate reacted to the situation, saying that West should be allowed to speak.
Tate’s statement came during a conversation with Rumble Studios, where he shared his thoughts on Kanye West’s situation, questioning the backlash against him. He argued that brands like Balenciaga, which cut ties with West, owed much of their success to him.
Tate also emphasized the importance of open discussion, stating that if Kanye’s statements were offensive or incorrect, they should be debated rather than silenced.
He pointed out that silencing someone didn’t prove them wrong and added that a proper discussion, where both sides present their views, would be more productive. In another video posted on YouTube in 2022, Andrew Tate said:
“Kanye certainly has first-hand experience of the heart of the Matrix. I also know that he is saying things which are controversial and not widely accepted and I think that even if I personally disagree with some of the things he said, I think that people standing up and challenging the slave thing is good as a whole. People can say things I don’t agree with and I don’t like but if it makes people think and debate, I like it.”
Speaking to Adin Ross in the same year, Andrew Tate said what Kanye West did was dangerous and could empathize with his situation. He argued that despite being called a dangerous person, he was the one who talked about discipline and motivating others.
