Dr. Phil McGraw, widely known as Dr. Phil, made an appearance at the Trump rally in Madison Square Garden on Sunday and formally endorsed the former president. Since then, the spotlight has shifted onto his personal life, with many wondering about his wife, Robin McGraw, whom he has been married to for 50 years.
Dr. Phil and Robin met way back when his sister introduced them. On Valentine's Day in 1976, he got down on one knee and asked his to-be wife if she would marry him. In a year, the two got hitched, and have since welcomed two sons: Jay McGraw and Jordan McGraw.

McGraw is a woman of many talents. She co-hosts with Dr. Phil occasionally and is also a bestselling author and host of a podcast in her own right. Furthermore, she's a grandmother to four. In speaking about her relationship with the television personality, she told People Magazine in 2019,
"We snuggle in the den on the sofa. We love to be at home and binge-watch TV, he has a recliner in the room. I put on my sweatpants and his socks."
Robin debuted her first book as an author back in 2007, Inside My Heart: Choosing to Live with Passion and Purpose. It scaled the charts to become a #1 New York Times best-seller. The book touches on her personal life, and she uses it as a medium to enlighten other women on how to achieve the life they want.
From there, she authored several other books, including Christmas in My Home and Heart, What's Age Got to Do with It? and Living Your Happiest and Healthiest Life. When she's not writing, she's hosting a weekly podcast, where she invites celebrities and experts.
She chats with them about her life as a parent, businesswoman, and television personality, and shares personal anecdotes. Guests who have made an appearance on her show include actress Rachel Bilson, musician Andy Grammer, TV host Daphne Oz, and Nick Viall, an alum of The Bachelor.
To commemorate their 46th anniversary together, Robin took to social media to pen a heartfelt message to her beau:
"46 years of marriage… can you believe it?! There hasn't been a year that has gone by that my husband hasn't made me feel like the most blessed woman in the world 🌹❤️💕😍I love you so much Phillip!!! Cheers to this beautiful life we have together."
Dr. Phil asserts that Trump is not a bully, claims he "doesn't need" to stand up for Trump
During the rally on Sunday, Dr. Phil wanted it known that he was “not here just to stand up for Donald J. Trump." He continued,
"Lord knows, he doesn’t need me to stand up for him. He’s tough as an old army boot. He’s got lots of enemies, different groups that are scared, and between them, they have impeached him, indicted him, raided him, railroaded him, shot him and sued him. And where is he? He is still standing.”
While he did reveal that he doesn't "like or agree with everything that Donald J. Trump does or says," he pointed out that "no human is perfect."
"We don’t strive for perfection. We strive for excellence,” he said.”but you don’t have to love everything about someone in order to love them, and the last thing he needs is some celebrity endorsement.”
He continued, claiming that all Trump endorsers were being "canceled, intimidated, marginalized, excluded or even fired or boycotted.”
"When you attack a citizen, and you use the power of the Internet, you use mob mentality, you incite people to gang up and cause boycotts, then it is beyond ugly. And that is what is happening in this country right now, and that is not OK.”
He went on:
"There is an imbalance of power there, and it is time that every one of us close ranks. We have to stop this now. It’s time that we push back against cancel culture. It’s time that we push back against intimidation tactics.”
In addressing the claims of Trump being a bully, Dr. Phil stood up for him, noting that the lack of an imbalance of power, makes it just a debate in which he claims Trump is better than anybody else. In speaking of the other celebrities allegedly not copping as much flak as the Trump supporters do, he said,
"I would love to say it’s equal on both sides, but I’ll guarantee you when Beyonce, George Clooney, De Niro, and Rizzo come out and say they’re for Kamala Harris, did you read anything or hear anything in the media criticizing it? No, but you watch what happens tomorrow morning when people find out I came here to talk to you.”

Dr. Phil also cited the First Amendment “where our government has said we will pass no laws to infringe on our freedoms for religion and speech." He continued, claiming that we're all "muzzling each other."
According to him, "We have a law that protects free speech so we start taking it away from each other? Are you kidding me? We can’t allow that to happen.”
