Online streamer DJ Akademiks, aka Livingston Allen, was reportedly banned from the streaming platform Twitch on January 28, 2025, as his profile was not accessible to the viewers. Although the exact reason for the ban is unknown, social media users and online reports have various theories to support it.

Some reports have attributed the ban to the controversy surrounding his inappropriate conversation with 15-year-old streamer NourGxd. Meanwhile, X account “AkademiksTV” mentioned that the ban was issued because Allen called streamer Adin Ross during a live stream, despite Ross being permanently banned from the platform in 2023.

Allen has recently shared his response over the ban during a stream, a clip of which was shared by X account "Glock Topickz." In the clip, he said he was trying to move past the incident, as it did not help much. Concerning the ban, he said:

“Obviously, I will say this. Twitch took some action because, you know, even though I wasn’t streaming, that happened on their platform. Completely get it. And you know, we will work with Twitch and make it right.”

DJ Akademiks added that until the issue got sorted out, he would continue to multi-stream on Rumble, Meta, and YouTube. Allen mentioned that 80% of the viewership came from YouTube. Despite the consequences, he said one must respect the platform and its rules and regulations citing:

“And also when they take enforcement action, you can’t be mad. You get what I am saying so that’s kind of where we are at now.”

He also dismissed rumors of losing sponsorships, stating that his partnerships were still in place. Allen noted that Stake continued to back him on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing that nothing had changed.

Rapper Meek Mill shared a statement following DJ Akademiks’ Twitch ban

On January 29, 2025, after the news of DJ Akademiks’ Twitch ban went viral on X, rapper Meek Mill reshared a post by "FearBuck" on his profile. The rapper, while referencing the streamer's interaction with NourGxd interaction, wrote:

“He gone be drinking tonight screaming at kids from some other portal lol these guys lives be terrible “ NEVER FOLLOW THE HEATHENS”

This is not the first time that Meek Mill has spoken about the incident. He had previously urged parents to be mindful of their kids’ online activity. In his X post from January 27, 2025, he criticized Allen for his inappropriate behavior.

DJ Akademiks had previously admitted wanting to keep his stream low-profile, feeling like he was under intense scrutiny. While discussing his Twitch ban, he described the situation involving the teenager as a regrettable mistake and assured his audience that he would learn from it.

Addressing the grooming controversy and accusations, he acknowledged them but dismissed attempts to cancel him, emphasizing that his success wasn’t built by others. He admitted to making mistakes and promised to be more mindful moving forward.

The grooming allegations were leveled against DJ Akademiks after he made inappropriate comments of a s*xual nature to NourGxd. Allen was also criticised by streamer Plaqueboymax who warned him from repeating his actions.
