Andie MacDowell, best known for Four Weddings and a Funeral and Groundhog Day, recently made headlines by discussing her personal life and health struggles.

While appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show recently, MacDowell discussed her experience of living with Piriformis Syndrome, a condition that can cause pain or numbness in the buttocks, hips, and upper legs. This happens when the piriformis muscle spasms and compresses the sciatic nerve.

The popular actress is currently single. More on that ahead.

Initially, the pain made the actress think she might need a hip replacement. She also described how the disorder made her feel like she was “literally falling apart.”

MacDowell now works closely with a personal trainer and physical therapist to manage the pain. She emphasized that hitting hip and lower body exercises would help strengthen her muscles. In fact, she said she believes her Peloton obsession contributed to her condition and made her knees worse. She said:

“My knees are good except for like aging. They’ve aged. I’m working out really hard now doing PT I’m not falling apart. Well, thank God.”

MacDowell said that old age has presented many challenges to her. Having lived in Los Angeles for years, she moved to South Carolina. According to the New York Post, Andie MacDowell called the change “really positive,” saying she can now have friends over and pursue a quieter life.

MacDowell married businessman named Rhett Hartzog, a high school acquaintance, in 2001. The two got married in an elaborate ceremony in Asheville, North Carolina. But their marriage was over by 2004, with a divorce following three years later.

According to Entertainment Now, in a recent interview, MacDowell expressed how people had stopped asking her about her dating life. She said:

"I got really tired people finally gave up, ’cause everybody would always say, ‘So, is there a man?’ I was just like, you know."

MacDowell has been single since her second divorce. “I’m not dating anymore,” she told Drew Barrymore, adding that she is perfectly happy focusing on her friends and her self-growth.

Beyond her health and personal revelations, Andie MacDowell revealed that she is now a grandmother. She said her son Justin was having a baby and that she was looking forward to the family growing.
