"Incredible surprises": Pedro Pascal teases fans with The Mandalorian & Grogu at the Star Wars Celebration 2025
At the Star Wars Celebration 2025 event, when Pedro Pascal was asked by ScreenRant the most anticipated question of whether or not his character in the forthcoming film, Din Djarin, shall be donning the helmet, the actor responded:
"I hope so, I really do. I know everything that there is to know, and I'm not gonna tell you any of it because I want you to experience it. I want everyone to experience the incredible surprises that are in store in one of the greatest adventure movies that has ever been made. I mean that."
The Mandalorian & Grogu is expected to release next year, on 22nd May, 2026.
Helmed by Jon Favreau, the film further builds up on the narrative of the Star Wars Disney+ series The Mandalorian (2019-2023). Also helmed by the same director, Pedro Pascal shall continue his character of Din Djarin from the series into the forthcoming film The Mandalorian & Grogu.
The film's synopsis, as mentioned on IMDb, goes by:
Once a lone bounty hunter, Mandalorian Din Djarin and his apprentice Grogu embark on an exciting new Star Wars adventure.
Along with Pedro Pascal, the film also stars Jeremy Allen White and Sigourney Weaver.
The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to release seven years after the last Star Wars film, which was released back in 2019, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
In the ending scene of Season 3 of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin, after legitimately taking on Grogu, goes back to the volcanic planet Nevarro. A piece of land has been kept for Din Djarin and Grogu to inhabit, as notified to the duo by Greef Karga. At the same time, Bo Katan steps into the position of the leader of Mandalore. So, how the upcoming film builds on from the ending of the series is something to look forward to!
As per The Hollywood Reporter, characters from the television series Star Wars: Ahsoka (2023- present) and the animated series Star Wars: Rebels (2014-2018) are also anticipated to be incorporated into The Mandalorian & Grogu. The film is produced by Lucasfilm, and its distribution is handled by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
