The past few days have been quite busy for Paul Feig. The director recently appeared at the world premiere of Another Simple Favor at the SXSW Film & TV Festival and was also on a press tour talking to different outlets.
Feig recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his film. During his conversation, the director also praised Blake Lively for her inputs regarding the attire of her character in the A Simple Favor sequel,
“Her ideas on wardrobe are spectacular… When she first shows up [in the movie], Blake was like, ‘I want to show up in a suit that looks like a prison outfit.’ It’s one of these things that when somebody first says it, you’re like, ‘That’s weird.’ Then you realize it’s actually brilliant.”
Paul Feig also addressed the unusually large hat that Blake Lively’s character Emily Nelson was seen donning briefly in the Another Simple Favor teaser trailer. The 62-year-old filmmaker said,
“There’s a store in Capri called Fiore, and she [Blake Lively] went in and they had this big-a** sunhat. She came back and said, ‘I just bought this hat. Can we put it in the movie?’”
Feig, who loved the idea of using the sunhat, added,
“That’s definitely going in the movie. [Are] You kidding me? And my favorite thing is how she navigates the street with it. There’s one shot where she’s walking past the camera and, as she goes by, she lifts it up so you can see her face. I’m like, ‘You are such a f***ing movie star.'”

A Simple Favor sequel is slated to drop on Amazon Prime Video in May 2025. Ahead of its digital release, the film had its screening at the 2025 South by Southwest (SXSW) Film & TV Festival.
Paul Feig, Anna Kendrick, and Blake Lively appeared at the world premiere of Another Simple Favor. The director and the cast members, including the leading ladies, were pictured on the red carpet as they interacted with the correspondents.
Amidst the rumors of an ongoing beef between Kendrick and Lively, both actresses were separately asked about working with one another when they arrived at the event. Neither of the Another Simple Favor stars gave much attention to the questions.
The Pitch Perfect actress was also seemingly questioned about Blake Lively’s ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. Anna Kendrick dodged the question like a pro and focused on the film.
After the Another Simple Favor team’s reunion on the red carpet, the supposed feud between Kendrick and Lively was again mentioned by content creator Melanie King (@realmelanieking). Responding to her X post, Paul Feig set the record straight by refuting the rumors of a fight between the co-stars.
The director recently spoke to People about working with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. Speaking highly of both actresses, Paul Feig claimed that reuniting with them after the 2018 black comedy mystery thriller was “a dream come true.” He further added,
“It was too much fun. Too much fun… I mean, I had such a great experience on the first one. It always kind of stuck with me, like, ‘God, I love working with the two of them’ — as well as the rest of the cast.”
Paul Feig continued,

“So, you know, coming up with this [sequel] just like, ‘We gotta get something that gives them both something great and new to do that can include the old cast but bring in a bunch of new characters… And I always wanted to shoot something in Capri, so it was a dream come true to get to figure that one out.”
According to Box Office Mojo, A Simple Favor earned a worldwide collection of $97.6 million against a budget of $20,000,000. Unlike its predecessor, Another Simple Favor is being released digitally only.
