A video clip where a man loudly spoils A Minecraft Movie mid-screening is surfacing on the internet, where he forced theatregoers to boo and alert security. He was later kicked out of the theatre this weekend. The man could be heard saying, "Steve dies by an Enderman" twice as the crowd shouted, "Get out" and "Shut up."
The video has received a lot of backlash, with lots of users commenting on it. A user commented, “If a dude did this during peak marvel I’d start blasting” referencing the intense craze and fan reactions that Marvel movies had, especially the last two Avengers movies.
Popcorn-throwing and yelling are common now at theatres around the United States in April 2025, during the movie's second blockbuster weekend, but this incident was a first.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that over the weekend, Jack Black, who provides the voice of Steve, shocked theatregoers at AMC Century City in Los Angeles by hilariously mimicking theatre announcements,
"Chicken jockey! For today’s presentation of A Minecraft Movie, please no throwing popcorn."
The audience didn't take much time to recognise his voice and recognize him.
"Look what I brought."
showing the axe tool from the Minecraft game, his character's main prop. He goes on to say,
"Are you ready to rock? Ladies and gentlemen, please enjoy A Minecraft Movie.”

More about The Minecraft movie in the theatres

Theatre businesses in the United States and the United Kingdom have released statements that discourage disruptive conduct. A Cineworld cinema made it clear that patrons exhibiting "anti-social behavior" would be ejected without compensation. However, some theatre owners are still reluctant to impose more stringent guidelines for fear that the disorder would worsen.
Director Jared Hess, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, said,
“It’s weird when you’re having too much fun and the cops get called. I’ve seen so many funny videos. It’s great… I’m just glad people are making memories with their friends and families.”
The movie has become a huge hit in spite of the chaos it has caused in the theatres. In less than two weeks, the movie has made over $550 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Hollywood release of 2025 to yet, according to AP News.
Fans continue to crowd theatres to watch the adaptation of the game of the same name by Mojang Studios, which stars Jack Black, Jason Momoa, and Danielle Brooks.
As it keeps breaking records, theatregoers are warned about spoilers during the movie, popcorn throws, and ruckus.
