“I want my freedom back” - Wendy Williams seen crying from an assisted living facility while giving interview, says son overstepped boundaries

American media personality and former broadcaster Wendy Williams says "I want my freedom back" amidst her ongoing guardianship issue. She is currently at an assisted living facility in New York. The 60-year-old Williams, after being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, which is an uncommon brain disorder, is going through a rough patch of time. The former broadcaster has a history of alcohol abuse which is one of the reasons behind her current predicament.

Wendy Williams is widely known for her popular television talk show, The Wendy Williams Show. Before becoming a famous media personality she was a host and a radio DJ. According to reports, she is battling a court-ordered guardianship and trying her best to get back to her normal life.

Collin Rugg, the co-owner of the website Trending Politics, recently shared a video on X, where Wendy Williams was seen crying while she was in the middle of an interview with TMZ. The video was filmed by TMZ from the street as they were not allowed to enter the facility to meet her in person.

Wendy Williams talks about her experience inside the facility revealing how she is not permitted to go out or call someone. She also talks about how she has no access to her telephone and is not allowed to call or meet his family and friends. She went ahead and talked about feeling like a prisoner and that she had only been out twice in the last 30 days. Not to mention, when the conversation turned to her Guardian at the facility, she said "The system has failed. In her recent interview with TMZ, Wendy Williams blamed her son Kevin Hunter Jr. for mishandling her money. She claimed that her son took undue advantage of her finances without her permission and by doing that he overstepped his boundaries. According to Williams' statement to TMZ, her 24-year-old son had been spending her money inappropriately without her concern. Also, Wells Fargo froze Wendy's bank account due to unofficial activities. The bank then informed her that she was being financially taken advantage of. After finding out that her bank account was frozen, Willams said:

Thank God. No more money stealing from my son and the other people.

As per certain reports, Kevin Hunter Jr. was facing financial problems which included getting eviction notices as he was unable to pay rent for his Miami apartment. Wendy Williams mentioned his good qualities but also did not hesitate to point out her disappointment in him. She went ahead and said:

My son is a good person, but at this point, he is a horrible person to me.
