“I’ve never seen Teddi Mellencamp in so much pain”—Estranged husband Edwin Arroyave shares an update after brain cancer surgery

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp’s estranged husband Edwin Arroyave updated Mellencamp’s fans about her health via Instagram. While Mellencamp’s brain surgery went well, according to Arroyave, she had to deal with an immense amount of pain related to her tumor diagnosis.

“So many people asking for updates,”

Arroyave wrote on Instagram stories a few hours ago.

"All I will say right now is surgery went well. That said, l've never seen @teddimellencamp in so much pain. She's finally getting some needed rest. I know she is so grateful for the outpouring of love,” he continued.

CEO of a security company, Arroyave has become the main point of contact between Mellencamp and her fans, as the latter has been inactive on social media since posting her diagnosis on Instagram on February 13 and informing fans about her impending surgery. News about Mellencamp's surgery has been breaking ever since.

“For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches,”

Mellencamp shared on Instagram. Continuing, she added,

“Two of the tumors will be surgically removed today - The remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”

Mellencamp counted her blessings as she appreciated being in the presence of her children, family, and medical team.

Mellencamp could be seen with a shaved head in Arroyave’s post on February 13, ready for surgery. With her arm around her former husband, the television personality was wished the best of luck by Arroyave, who wrote a Bible verse as a caption for her.

Teddi Mellencamp’s separation from Edwin Arroyave

Despite Edwin Arroyave’s recent support for Teddi Mellencamp during her health struggles, the two have been separated since late 2024. Married in 2011, Mellencamp and Arroyave are parents to daughters Slate and Dove and son Cruz. Arroyave also has a daughter from an earlier marriage.

Mellencamp broke the news on Instagram in November 2024, writing,

“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce.”

Emphasizing her concern for her children, Mellencamp continued,

“In an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest, and vulnerable was the best path forward.”

Arroyave can still be seen taking care of his and Mellencamp’s children. Posting an Instagram story about their son Cruz’s basketball game, Arroyave admired his son’s moves. He also shared an image of Cruz with a pink paper heart that his son’s classmates had made wishing for Mellencamp’s speedy recovery.

This isn’t the first time Teddi Mellencamp is dealing with health issues

It was in the second half of 2022 that Teddi Mellencamp shared her stage II melanoma cancer diagnosis. Mellencamp had taken to social media to educate fans about the risks of skin cancer and the value of not putting off doctor’s visits. Sharing the importance of being cautious, Mellecamp said,

“I continue to share this journey because I was a 90s teen, putting baby oil and iodine on my skin to tan it. Never wearing sunscreen or getting my moles checked until I was 40 years old.”

Mellencamp has also been through serious health concerns with her youngest daughter around the time she was born. In 2020, Mellencamp’s four-month-old daughter Dove’s lambdoid craniosynostosis diagnosis was revealed by the Real Housewives star. For the condition, Dove required neurosurgery, following which Mellencamp shared what a “boss baby” Dove is.
