William Levy, the Cuban-American actor best known for being a soap opera actor in the Spanish television industry and for his roles in Hollywood, was arrested this Monday in Weston, South Florida. CBS News reported that the 44-year-old faced two charges: Disorderly intoxication in public and trespassing in an occupied structure or vehicle. He was later booked into the Broward Main Jail following the incident.

The Audio from a 911 call, made by the manager of Baires Grill, has surfaced—it is the call that led to William Levy’s arrest. He reported to emergency services that two individuals appeared drunk and were causing a problem:

“We’ve got two drunk people here. I think they’re also on something. They don’t want to leave, and we’re not serving them anymore,” he shared.

According to the employee, the two were intoxicated and growing confrontational, eventually even pulling a third guest into the situation. When asked by the 911 operator whether the individuals had weapons, the employee replied that no arms were to be seen. The Police showed up soon, and William Levy, known for his role in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, was arrested following a back-and-forth exchange.

In Florida, disorderly intoxication is considered a second-degree misdemeanor, carrying a possible jail sentence of up to 60 days and a maximum fine of $500. A conviction also results in a lasting mark on a person’s criminal record, one that’s permanent and can’t be hidden.

Levy appeared before a judge on Tuesday afternoon, who set his bond at $250-$500 for each charge he was booked for. Hours later, he was released and attempted a quick exit, trying to dodge the crowd of reporters waiting outside.

He explained that he only meant to diffuse the confrontation when:

“All of a sudden, he started arguing with another guy to deescalate the situation, and I’m the one who ended up in handcuffs.”

William Levy then addressed the accusations of his aggressive behavior:

“I tried to stay calm the whole time. In the end, I was the one who had to leave.”

And on the subject of the trespassing charge, he explained:

“Well, they had to take me in for something.”

William Levy's previous police incident

A similar incident happened in 2023 when police were called to Levy’s home by his then-partner, Elizabeth Gutiérrez. She informed the officers that he was heavily intoxicated and was with another woman. While this incident didn’t result in legal consequences for William Levy, it did stir criticism and attention online.

William Levy and Elizabeth were in a relationship from the early 2000s until their split. In an interview with HOLA, Elizabeth reflected on their time together:

“I always bet on my relationship. I loved William, I think it’s no secret that he was the love of my life as I always bet and wanted to show us as we were,” she said.

She then explained that their separation wasn’t due to a lack of emotion:

“I think I’m not the same girl I was 20 years ago when he met me. What we want at this moment is different. I will always love him, I will always wish him the best, and as I have always said, being with me or not, I want to see him happy.”
