Howie Mandel has officially apologized to Bill Burr for ambushing him with Billy Corgan during his podcast last month.

Mandel was referring to a January 21 incident, when he had Bill Burr come on the show, only to ambush him with Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. Back in November, Corgan told Mandel on his show that his stepmother had revealed to him over 10 years ago that Burr "might be one of the children that your father sired in his days being a traveling musician."

Corgan also echoed the claims, noting that his father told him he had a half-brother close to him in age, and that his name was Bill. The two men were born one year apart. At the time, Mandel's move was not well-received by Burr, and in response, he publicly apologized for it this Tuesday:

"I want to apologize," Mandel said Tuesday on his Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast. "I feel horrible, and I'm sorry, Bill. I'm sorry, Billy. I only tried to do something good."

Bill Burr slams Howie Mandel in public, says he'll do anything for ratings: Here's everything we know about their beef so far

During that episode, titled 'Family Reunion with Bill Burr & Billy Corgan,' things went downhill quickly. "You're an a--hole," Burr told Mandel, accusing him of engineering the encounter simply to drive up “the f---ing ratings.”

“That’s the thing, he’s bringing [us] in here not because he’s trying to heal the bullshit that we went through growing up. He’s getting [us] here just for the f---ing ratings,” Burr said, before asking Mandel, “What was supposed to happen? Are we going to go play catch? We’re both in our 50s.”

The comedian then reflected on his father:

“He was a piece of s–t. He had two kids this close together, and he gave them the same f–king name? He thinks it’s different because he’s Billy and I’m Bill. That’s how he told the difference,” Burr said.

Burr also had an issue with Corgan telling viewers the story, though it soon became evident that he was only doing so at Mandel's behest. Corgan also revealed that he thought that Burr knew he would be dropping by, but the host told the two men that he “thought it would be a good surprise.” He told Burr:

“I told him privately that story and [Mandel] said, ‘Oh you’ve got to say this on the air.’”

Not long after, Bill Burr took to The Rich Eisen Show to address his beef with Howie Mandel:

“Howie did what he did because he is a Hollywood wh*re and he doesn’t care what happens," he said, adding that he felt like Mandel reveled in “bring[ing] up all that weirdness.” He went on, “Billy’s fine. That’s the first time I ever met him and it was fine or whatever. But I did not appreciate what Howie did. Not at all.”

When Eisen probed if Burr was “pissed” at Mandel, he responded:

“He’s Howie, so he’s sorta hard to hate. How do you hate a germaphobe? He’s like, not threatening. He just walks with his arms in so he doesn’t rub against curtains that he owns…He’s a strange man.”

During his Tuesday episode, Mandel revealed that he "had no idea" things would go downhill so quickly:

"Bill Burr has not peeped," Mandel said Tuesday. "I texted him and said, 'Good episode.' Didn't answer. I said, 'Is there anything I can do to further this this, to follow up'? No answer."

At the time of writing, neither Bill Burr nor Billy Corgan have responded to Howie Mandel's apology.
