American sprinter Noah Lyles and Jamaican track and field athlete Junelle Bromfield are about to get hitched in 2026. Both Olympians, in a recent interview with The Knot, opened up about their upcoming wedding and shared some of their plans.
The Olympian couple, who broke the news of their engagement on October 13, 2024, came across one another for the first time in 2017 over DM. According to People, it was Bromfield who made the first move and reached out to Lyles through social media. Initially, both of them were friends, eventually leading to a romantic relationship in 2022.
In an interview with The Knot, Noah and Junelle talked about their 2026 spring wedding and how they're preparing for it. The six-time world champion sprinter talked about how he has decided to "wing" his wedding vows. Which means he won't be preparing the vows or writing them down beforehand, but will be spontaneous about it and will say whatever he wants to, right on the day of their wedding.
Noah, regarding "winging" his vows, said to The Knot:
"I have a bet going on with my brother’s girlfriend. I told her about two years ago that I would wing my vows, and I stand true to that."
On the other hand, Junelle, who cannot handle big crowds and gets nervous easily, confessed that she will surely not wing her vows, but will prepare beforehand. However, while rehearsing their wedding vows for the outlet, the Olympic bronze medal winner, Bromfield, admitted that Lyles "did good" when he improvised his proposal speech.
The 27-year-old Bromfield said:
"I most definitely will not [wing my vows]. I get nervous in big crowds, so I need to write my vows."

The Olympian couple, during the interview with The Knot, discussed how big their wedding will be. According to Noah, he prefers big weddings, whereas Junelle is fond of small weddings with limited people. Lyles said:
"The biggest thing that just was not a compromise was probably the size of the wedding. I like big weddings, she likes very small weddings."
To which Bromfield added:
"If it was up to Noah, we'd probably have like 400 people. We're only having about 250, so I got the number down a little bit."
While discussing the guests, Noah claimed there would be several Olympians and other athletes present at the wedding. The 27-year-old American sprinter said:
"There will definitely be a few football players, basketball players, you know, just people that I've known throughout the years. There will likely be three tables of Olympians all the way from like the '80s to 2024."
Noah and Junelle also talked about honoring the loved ones who are no longer with them. Bromfield went ahead and shared:
"My mom and my brother have passed away, so Noah had this amazing idea to have empty chairs at the front with their pictures on them."
Junelle talked about how their wedding will lean into her Jamaican heritage, as she mentioned she will involve as many Jamaicans as she can, some of them who will be her make-up artist, and in charge of her dress, and so on. However, one of the most important things for Bromfield is the music that will be played on her big day, and she is quite focused on that.
Lastly, Bromfield shared that they're thrilled to be together and are looking forward to their life as husband and wife. Junelle further added:
"When I think about spending my life with Noah, I feel very excited because I know there's so much the future holds for us."
While Lyles chimed in, saying:
"With the goal being that we grow old together, with great kids and great grandkids."
