Another tribute during the ceremony celebrated the legacy of music icon Quincy Jones, featuring performances across various genres. Wicked star Cynthia Erivo sang Fly Me to the Moon, while Janelle Monáe closed the tribute with a rendition of Michael Jackson’s Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.
Concerning the ongoing investigation into Liam Payne’s death, an inquest in the UK has confirmed that his cause of death was due to multiple traumatic injuries, known as "polytrauma." BBC reported that this term refers to severe injuries affecting different parts of the body and organ systems.
In Argentina, five individuals have been charged in connection with Payne’s death. The hotel manager, Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi, and Payne’s friend Roger Nores face manslaughter charges, while hotel worker Ezequiel Pereyra and waiter Braian Paiz have been charged with supplying drugs.
A post-mortem examination revealed that Payne suffered multiple trauma and internal and external bleeding from falling off the hotel balcony. A toxicology report indicated the presence of cocaine, alcohol, and a prescription antidepressant in his system.
According to The New York Times, officials stated that his death was not considered a suicide, as evidence suggested he was unconscious when he fell.
