Tory Lanez in a formal ethics complaint to the State Bar of California claims that his lawyer, Shawn Holley did not have his best interest at heart while representing him in his criminal case in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting incident.
The rapper claimed Holley allegedly had business ties to Roc Nation, an entertainment company. Holley while responding to these allegations via a former TMZ producer Loren Lorosa claimed that she never had business ties with Megan Thee Stallion's label.
Lorosa took to X to share Holley's response where the attorney claims that despite being a co-producer on the TV series Reasonable Doubt which shares the name of an album by Roc Nation co-founder JAY-Z, the connections don't go beyond that.
"Roc Nation has nothing to do with the television show Reasonable Doubt, which I co-produce."
Holley also claimed that Tory Lanez tried to shoot the same allegations at her a year ago at the state bar but they were rejected.
"Mr. Peterson made these claims over a year ago to the State Bar which rejected them and promptly closed the matter. I have never had business ties to Roc Nation."
What happened between Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion
Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion in the feet amidst an argument between the two after the two left the pool party hosted by Kylie Jenner. The rapper was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he was found guilty on three gun-related charges in December 2022.
The rapper has since accepted his mistake and read a statement to the court before the sentencing saying, "I did wrong that night" and opened up about the details of the night.
"There's been this misconception about me being this monster for not having remorse, that's just not true. That night was a night that everyone was drunk ...I said some very immature things. If I could turn back the series of events...I would, but I can't.
After the court battle between the two surfaced on the internet, Megan Thee Stallion while speaking to Women's Health in August 2020, said that a lot of people didn't treat her like she was "human" for a very long time." She added that people were "always used" to her being the "fun and happy party girl."
The rapper will also be talking about the incident in her upcoming documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In her Words which navigates her life and career.
