Doechii has been accused of being an industry plant, and the Grammy-winning artist says she does not care about such talk.
Speaking with The Cut about the hate she has been subjected to in recent years, the artist said she takes it in stride. She also adds that it is a sign she is doing well, and claims it is only because people don't really know her history.
"When people aren’t familiar with the history of an artist these days, they get suspicious," Doechii told the outlet. "I'm pretty detached emotionally from it because I understand where it’s coming from."

In her interview, the Denial Is A River singer added:
"Once you get any conspiracies around your career. That’s just confirmation that I’m going somewhere, and I’m doing something right."
Doechii admitted she was unsure of herself when she started out in 2016, though over the years, she has worked with several renowned figures and released noteworthy mixtapes and EPs. She also reflected on how early rap had an influence on her latest mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal.
"I’m gravitating towards the pure skill that was incorporated," Doechii told the outlet. "Anyone who doesn’t think that hip-hop is an intellectual genre, I think that assumption is rooted in racism."
She also spoke of how Lauryn Hill's only solo studio album impacted the trajectory of her career.
"The feeling that I have when I listen to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is the same feeling I want some other Black little girl to have when she listens to me," Doechii said. “And in order for her to have that feeling, I have to talk about my feelings."
As for rumors swirling that she's gone under the knife, the artist confirmed that she has gotten some tweaks done:
“People make comments to me like, ‘Oh my God, please never touch your face. If you did that, I just wouldn’t be able to support you.’ I’m thinking to myself, They have no idea that I have Botox and filler and whatever, and you love exactly who I am now.”
Speaking with Rolling Out, as reported by HotNewHipHop, she revealed that she likes to write "by myself" and she loves "to perform," adding:
"And I do all of this for the moment that I’m on stage. It means a lot to me."
